No, you do not need any special equipment to effectively train for a Finish Well trip. This is your ultimate training companion for the El Capitan hike in Yosemite National Park and the Rim to River to Rim hike in Grand Canyon National Park. Our comprehensive program, meticulously crafted to equip you with the strength, endurance, and resilience needed to conquer the 19.4 miles / 5,219 foot summit of El Capitan or the 17 miles / 4,800 foot descent on the iconic South Kaibab trail in the Grand Canyon and the 4,400 foot ascent via the Bright Angel trail.

But our support doesn't end there! In addition to the meticulously curated workout plan, we're excited to announce that we will host virtual monthly group check-ins. These sessions provide an invaluable opportunity for participants to connect, share experiences, and receive expert guidance and motivation from a professional. Whether you have questions, need advice, or simply seek encouragement, our monthly group check-ins ensure you stay on track and motivated throughout your training journey.

Before purchasing the custom-designed workout plan offered by Finish Well it is essential for participants to be aware of the necessary equipment required to effectively implement the program. You must have access to the following equipment:

1. Treadmill: A treadmill is required for certain cardiovascular exercises and interval training included in the workout plan.

2. Dumbbells: Dumbbells are essential for strength training exercises targeting various muscle groups throughout the program. Specifically, a light to medium set for shoulders and a heavy set for large muscle groups like chest, back, glutes and legs. Personally, I can train effectively with 3 sets of dumbbells: a 5-8 pound set, a 10 pound set and a 15 pound set.

3. Weight Vest or Loaded Backpack: A 15 pound weight vest or a loaded backpack is necessary for adding resistance to certain exercises, enhancing intensity, and promoting progressive overload to prepare for your hike.

Failure to possess the required equipment may limit your ability to fully engage in the workout plan and may impact the effectiveness of your training experience.

Our goal is not only to provide a momentary escape, but to equip and empower women with the tools and mindset to live well, suffer well and ultimately finish well, long after the adventure has ended. We want to help turn adversity into triumph and create a future that has turned pain into incredible purpose. Led by experienced facilitators, these sessions delve into various aspects of personal development, resilience, and purpose-driven living. God never sent anyone out on a solo mission. We need each other! We were designed to thrive in life, not just survive its challenges. You'll learn practical strategies for overcoming obstacles, finding meaning in adversity, and embracing a life of faith, purpose and fulfillment. Each session is interactive, engaging, and tailored to meet the needs of our participants.

Is your desired trip full? We encourage you to still register for the waitlist. If a participant cancels, we will give you a call or email to see if you are still interested. There is no deposit required to be put on the waitlist.

Typically, we run our adventures with 10-12 women.

Many, if not most, women will come on our trips without knowing anyone else. If you want a room to yourself, we’re glad to arrange it, pending availability. For our standard double accommodations, we'll arrange a roommate for you. If you sign up with a friend and want to be sure you share a room for the entire trip, just let us know and we’ll take care of it!

Depends! Daypacks are required and trekking poles are optional, and both can be the most expensive items required. Sufficient water (hydration bladders or water bottles) is a priority as well. While we strive to provide unforgettable adventure experiences, the safety of our participants is our top priority. In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, Finish Well will have contingency plans in place. This may include rescheduling the trip to a later date, offering alternative activities, or providing full refunds or credits for future trips. Rest assured, we'll do everything we can to ensure that you have a memorable and enjoyable adventure, rain or shine.
