WHAT DO WE DO AT
FINISH WELL?
At Finish Well, we exist to walk alongside widows through life's challenges, offering strength and direction to navigate their journeys with resilience and purpose. We only have one shot at this life and we want to steward it well, no matter our circumstances. Our mission is to equip and empower widows to live well, suffer well, and finish well by providing the support, guidance, and community they need.
We believe in the power of community and connection. Join us, and build lasting friendships and strength in shared experiences. We understand that life’s difficulties can be overwhelming, and we are dedicated to being a source of encouragement and practical help.
HOW WE GOT STARTED.
In 2017, at 38 years old, Jeff Homan was delivered the devastating news that he had a terminal disease with an average life span of 2-5 years. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's disease, is a rapidly progressive disease that robs sufferers of the ability to walk, move, speak, swallow and eventually breathe. Imagine—trapped, inside your own body. It’s 100% fatal.
After diagnosis, the mentality of “Finish Well” was immediately implemented in all aspects of his life. He made a commitment with his wife, Tara, and their young boys to live well, suffer well, and finish well, despite their circumstances and to be faithful with the life they've been given.

Together, Jeff and Tara co-authored the book “Finish Well”, written to their two boys. Anyone can start well, it's the finish that matters most! While ALS was the hardship they were entrusted with navigating well, the purpose of the book is the pursuit of finishing well in the midst of adversity.
Jeff passed away in August, 2022 after living with ALS for six years. He certainly loved life and his dream was for Finish Well to live on and have an eternal impact. So new life was breathed into Finish Well and a ministry was born that honors his life and legacy. Join us, as we work towards healing and building a life with eternal significance!
Meet the Team

TARA HOMAN, Co-founder & Owner
Tara Homan is an author and speaker, both ignited through tragedy. In the summer of 2022, Tara lost her husband to a six-year battle with ALS. Throughout her caregiving journey while also being mom to her two teenage boys, Tara learned firsthand what it means to live well, suffer well, and finish well. Tara and her late husband, Jeff, co-authored the book titled Finish Well for their boys, documenting intimate letters, life lessons, dogged perseverance, the continuous fight for faith in darkness, and parental guidance and counsel.
Tara’s primary role is now a new business owner ministering to the hearts of women facing adversity, but she can also be found training and teaching fitness classes at the gym, serving the ALS community in honor of Jeff, or hiking, rock climbing, and traveling with her boys, Evan and Cole. Tara lives in Westfield, Indiana, and is grateful for a good cup of coffee and quality time with friends and family.

JULIE CARDONA
Julie brings to the team a unique and poignant perspective shaped by her own tragic story. Having recently lost her husband, Chris, to the devastating clutches of alcohol addiction in the summer of 2023, Julie understands firsthand the complexities of navigating life's harshest challenges. Julie has faced layers of grief that extend beyond the tragedy of his death. She is confident that her story, while threatening to defeat her, will be one of triumph over addiction, betrayal and unfaithfulness, making her a pillar of strength and hope for those grappling with the multifaceted nature of grief.
Julie lives in Westfield, IN with her two children, Emerson and Grayson. She loves watching them both swim competitively. When she’s not planning Finish Well’s next experience, you’ll either find her spending time with loved ones or in her favorite gym, a space where she channels her strength, determination and energy.
